We sat down with Kita Alexander, our Poet Muse to chat creativity, romance and the beauty of everyday rituals. From slow mornings and love letters to music, nature and finding magic in the in-between.
Where do your best ideas tend to find you? When do you feel most creative, and what helps you get there?
'When I’m sitting by myself in nature with no technological distractions'
What are you creating at the moment that excites you?
'New music ALWAYS excites me. Sometimes it feels like a faucet that won’t turn off. I love it.'
What does being a romantic mean to you?
'Finding magical beautiful moments in the small everyday things.'
Are you more of a love letter, playlist or flowers kind of person and why?
'Love letter and playlist always. It lasts longer and you can imbue it with more meaning.'

What ordinary moment feels magical to you?
'Staying in your robe a little longer than you should in the morning, having a warm cup of tea or coffee and reading your favourite book.'
How would you describe your personal style in three words, and do you dress for the mood you're in or the mood you want to create?
'Comfortable, Tom-boy, whimsical on occasion. I always dress depending on the mood I’m in, but I’ll dress for the mood I want to create when I’m on stage.'
What drew you to working with Spell, and how does Of Poets & Romantics reflect this chapter of your life?
'As a Byron girl I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Spell. The moment I laid eyes on my sneak peak of the collection I knew this was very aligned with the direction of the styling for this current Kita era. It’s empowered but soft, feminine and practical, honest and poetic.'
If this collection had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it?
'They would be my songs off my current record.'
